The Word in the «The Tales of the Late Ivan Petrovich Belkin»: Difficulties in Identifying Meanings (On the Material of the Lexemes Blizzard, Fate). (To the 220th Anniversary of the Birth)

Abstract
The article is devoted to one of the specific issues associated with the stylistic organization of «The Belkin Tales», namely research into the author’s work with the word, which consists both in the actualization of the dictionary meaning and in the contextual increment of connotative meanings. Following the analysis of literary, historical, philological, and linguopoetic studies of «The Belkin Tales», a particular attention is paid to the lexical and semantic component of the cycle. The article analyses the functions of the blizzard and fate lexemes, taking into account their production by different characters in various contexts – both small and large.
