Abstract

The digitalisation of education and such modern schoolchildren’s characteristics as "clip (mosaic)" thinking, "non-linear" reading, and their inability to concentrate on important pieces of information and to identify key points make the problem of teaching generalisation in Russian language lessons particularly relevant. The article aims to identify and analyse the most effective generalisation techniques used in modern Russian language teaching methodology and school practice in the context of digitalisation. The techniques in question were presented in the pages of the "Russian language at school" journal. To achieve this goal, we selected and analysed articles from the above-mentioned journal covering the period from 2005 to 2025. The publications focused on incorporating generalisation into the process of teaching Russian. The study identified and analysed both traditional and innovative generalisation techniques most relevant to modern methodological science. These methods are aimed at developing students’ study skills in gene-ralising information under digitalisation conditions. In conducting this research, we employed theoretical analysis to formulate the research question as well as scientific and methodological generalisation. The study shows that generalisation techniques in modern Russian language teaching methodology are being actively re-examined by methodologists and teachers in the context of the digitalisation-driven restructuring of teaching and methodological resources. Specifically, traditional generalisation techniques (for instance, developing algorithms, instructions, checklists, summary tables, and others) were found to be actively transforming in modern school practice. They are used in the educational process along with innovative methods such as creating videos, language games, and others.
